The Eurofragance Perfumery Academy

To become an outstanding Perfumer is a serious challenge, that’s why we take the matter into our own hands and have created the Eurofragance Perfumery Academy: our in-house talent incubator where innate passion is turned into professional competency. Aspiring candidates are expected to go through three years of training during which they will get to know intimately over 1,200 perfumery raw materials. To gain international exposure, trainees undergo their training outside their country of origin, or, as Junior Perfumers, they work a couple of years in a Creative Center abroad. Once they have mastered the language of perfumery and perfected their technical and creative skills, they will be ready to develop fragrances for your brand.

"I aim to create perfumes that touch the heart"

Born to a German father and a Colombian mother, Olaf, who has made Dubai his home, describes himself as a citizen of the world.  His dual cultural background—both strict and exuberant—along with studies in industrial engineering have shaped the way he approaches perfumery projects.

Named Master Perfumer in 2024, Olaf mentors new talent and generously shares his passion for perfumery, while always making himself available to help out or provide his insights.  For him, perfumery is all about winning prestigious projects and putting a smile on one’s face.

Senior Perfumer

Angéline Leporini

"Creating a perfume is orchestrating an olfactive melody"

Angéline grew up in the Vosges, an eastern corner of France far from the historical cradles of French perfumery.  Her olfactive journey began when, at a young age, she realized that certain accords echoed precise memories in a tangible way.  The power of scent was a revelation.  Determined to pursue this path, she earned a degree in Chemistry from the Faculty of Sciences in Nancy, then joined the prestigious ISIPCA in Versailles.

Early in her professional career, she explored natural raw materials and quickly became passionate about environmental preservation and protecting natural resources.  To this day, when a brief allows it, she favors ingredients from suppliers who share her sustainability values.

Angéline attributes her success to her emotional sensitivity, technical expertise and attentive listening.  She places great importance on understanding the brand’s identity and its consumers, but refuses to be boxed into a category or trend as she creates fragrances across multiple product segments and markets.

Senior Perfumer

Lucas Sieuzac

"A fragrance is a balance between light and darkness, softness and intensity"

By the age of 18, Lucas knew that perfumery would be his language of expression.  He embraced his calling, determined to forge his own path in a family of accomplished Perfumers.  For him, the world of Fine Fragrances would become a sensorial playground and a quest for emotion and endless discovery.

Lucas is a man of contrasts, both discreet and bold, shy and rebellious; his creations can be described as simple, yet impactful.  He favors short, precise, readable formulas in which each ingredient is carefully measured to fully express its message.  An approach which has enabled him to develop his own olfactive language that blends classical ingredients with more modern ones.

Market trends or the possibility of “experimenting” with new captives from Eurofragance’s Innovation Center gets his creative juices flowing.  For Lucas, every new encounter is an inspiration.  Over the years, his roster of wins has grown to include both prestigious international brands and key niche names in contemporary perfumery.

Senior Perfumer

Pelegrí Granel

"Perfumery to awaken our instincts"

Pelegrí’s entered the world of perfumery almost by accident when he began working in the quality control department of a fragrance house—a new world that captivated his imagination.  It’s at this time that he discovered the richness of raw materials, the subtlety of accords and the complexity of perfume formulations.

In training to become a Perfumer, in the years 2000s, Pelegrí developed a personal vision of fragrance where sensoriality would play a key role, even in categories beyond Fine Fragrances.  At present, as a Senior Perfumer, he designs scents primarily for the Home, Personal and Air Care categories.  Far from simply having functional benefits, he wants his compositions to offer sensorial experiences, inviting those who smell them to travel through emotions and memories.

For Pelegrí, perfumery is a subtle alchemy of discipline, expertise, technique and creative freedom, where instinct, authenticity are distilled at every step of the process.  The result are fragrances for everyday life with an appealing sensuality.

Senior Perfumer

Soizic Beaucourt

"A fragrance can capture the fleeting essence of a moment or a culture"

For Soizic, becoming a Perfumer was a childhood dream she nurtured from a young age.  At eight, she already knew she wanted a career where creativity, beauty and the senses would play a central role.  To this end, she attended the ISIPCA, where she obtained her Master’s in Perfumery in 2006.

While early on Soizic focused primarily on fine fragrance creations, since joining Eurofragance she has deepened her expertise in formulating scents for the Personal Care and Air Care categories.  Concurrently, she has also expanded her playing field beyond Europe, creating for Asia, Latin America and especially the Middle East region which has captured her imagination.

An accomplished violin player and a true amateur of all art forms, Soizic looks to other disciplines such as music, gastronomy and literature for inspiration.  Her approach in creating fragrances brings together her artistic spirit and scientific rigor.  Beyond being just a fragrance, her creations express emotions, tell a story and ignite the imagination.

Senior Perfumer

Julia Rodríguez

"Each fragrance is a gift of oneself; an emotion shared through a creation"

Becoming a Perfumer was not a foregone conclusion for Julia.  As a child, growing up in a small town outside Barcelona, she dreamt of exploring different professional paths: doctor, scientist or journalist.  But the world of perfumery was never very far away, with a father who worked in the industry and who introduced her to the mysteries of raw materials and the alchemy that transforms them into an olfactive emotion—a vocation was born.

Julia joined Eurofragance in 2009 and has honed her skills in Fine Fragrances, a category in which she has had several impressive wins.  Her creative style is a reflection of her personality.  She is adventurous, daring and ambitious, which explains her success on prestigious, high-end brands.

Not afraid to challenge herself, Julia has now made Dubai her home base.  This experience allows her to further deepen her understanding of the Middle Eastern perfume culture, while continuing to work on international projects filled with emotion.

Perfumer

Jorge Antonio Guerrero

"The magic and mystery of transforming raw materials into fragrances"

Following the completion of his Chemical Engineering studies, Jorge was made an offer he couldn’t refuse: to become the Assistant of a reputed Perfumer.  He seized the opportunity to learn firsthand how raw materials can be transformed into fragrances with the power to evoke memories and emotions.

Ten years ago, Jorge, with six other colleagues, practically opened the Eurofragance affiliate in Mexico.  At present, in his role as Perfumer, and from his Mexican hub, he designs scents for customers in different Latin American markets.

For Jorge, the creative process begins with a concept or an image, which is then fed with different sources of inspiration such as nature, memories, art and more.  He describes himself as an intuitive person who is guided by his instinct, sensitivity and experience, and his goal is to create fragrances that will awaken an emotion.  Jorge works primarily on premium perfumery brands as they allow him a high degree of creativity and greater personal expression.

Perfumer

Juanma Velasco

"Perfumery becomes an addiction led by curiosity"

Juanma’s path to perfumery began with an acute curiosity for scents: the smell of flowers, food, spices, fine fragrances and even the iconic laundry products of his childhood.  He joined Eurofragance as a Compounder while studying towards a Master’s degree in Cosmetics in Barcelona, where he discovered the fascinating industry he works in today.

Exploring raw materials, their stories and the craft itself soon became more than an interest—it quietly turned into an addiction.  At Eurofragance, he completed the Perfumery Academy before moving to the Singapore Creative Center.

Juanma is strongly focused on Home Care projects—complex, fast-moving and always challenging, especially in Asia.  Still, he enjoys cross-category work, which allows him to approach projects from a fresh perspective and to keep learning.  Whatever the brief, he centers on client needs, market context and the application he is working on, to create safe, recognizable, performing and beautiful fragrances—with sustainability always in mind.

Perfumer

Juncal Tomás

"Perfumery demands open-mindedness and adaptability"

From a very early age Juncal was immersed in the world of odors and fragrances.  It’s with great emotion that she talks about her childhood, her collection of mini perfume bottles, her sister’s favorite fine fragrance and how her father used to describe the smell of wine—a family affair over four generations.

After studying pharmacy, Juncal worked in an oncological unit before opting for perfumery and joining Eurofragance as an Applications Trainee.  An opening that led her to enter and successfully complete the Perfumery Academy.

As a Perfumer now based in Singapore, Juncal creates fragrances across categories, but naturally gravitates to Air Care projects.  When she composes her formulas, she follows her instinct, but is methodical and technical in doing so.  For Juncal, adopting a true sustainability sensibility in perfume development is the only way forwards.  In the creation process, she is always conscious of her raw material choices, often being stricter than regulations demand.

Perfumer

Sara Farooqui

"Keeping in mind the perspective of the client and the consumer "

Following the completion of her Bachelor’s degree in Botany, Sara entered a post-graduate program in Perfumery and Cosmetics Management.  She always had an affinity for fragrances and the world of scents, but this Master’s program cemented her passion for the industry.

With eight years of experience in different fragrance houses, Sara joined the Mumbai affiliate of Eurofragance in 2025.  Her approach in creating a perfume is instinctive, but follows a methodical approach.  While having a clear creative vision on her own projects is important, she always tries to judge her work from the perspective of the client and the consumer.

Sara has a penchant for Fine Fragrance projects and her playing field is the Indian Subcontinent, but she has also created scents for the UAE and the African market.  On all projects, she considers it her responsibility, as a Perfumer, to design fragrances that are gentle on people and the planet.

Perfumer

Komal Yenkar

"Growing up around art influenced my personality in profound ways "

Komal credits her father’s profession—an artist—with shaping who she has become.  It was a gift for her to grow up amidst paintings, sculptures and all the materials related to his craft.  This exposure helped her develop her emotional intelligence and channel her feelings into creative outlets.

Following her studies in Industrial Chemistry, a newspaper article prompted her to study towards a post graduate diploma in Perfumery and Cosmetics Management.  Diploma in hand, she worked over ten years for several multinational fragrance companies before joining the ranks of Eurofragance in 2025.

Most of Komal’s projects are in the Personal and Home Care categories, but she is more and more attracted to Fine Fragrances, fully aware that successes in high-end perfumery launches eventually trickle down to more functional products.  For her, a good Perfumer combines technical skills and the ability to create fragrances according to market trends, something she strives for in her daily work.

Perfumer

Marzia Tissino

"Perfume creation can be a very visual experience "

Maybe it was her teddy bear impregnated with her mother’s perfume, Angel, or the attraction to what is mysterious and beautiful that drew Marzia to perfumery?  She isn’t sure; regardless, Marzia gravitated towards fragrances.  Following her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the fields of Pharmacy and Cosmetic Formulation, she entered the industry as an Evaluator.

From this vantage point, Marzia came to see Perfumers as alchemists, magicians capable of transforming raw materials into enchanting smells.  She decided to take the leap from evaluation to creation, and now, as a Perfumer, works on Fine Fragrance, Air Care and Skin Care projects.

When she elaborates a perfume, Marzia follows a visual approach.  She creates a mood board that begins with an inspiring image around which she gathers pictures, drawings, a palette of colors and selected materials.  Marzia then lists the ingredients inspired by her collage and begins composing her fragrance to—as faithfully as possible—represent her mood board.

Perfumer

Ivan Wong

"Perfumery and linguistics share some similarities"

Studying linguistics, cognitive science and syntax at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada didn’t predestine Ivan for the world of perfumery.  Yet, when the possibility to enter Eurofragance’s training program presented itself, he jumped at the opportunity.  He exchanged sounds, syntax and grammar, for musks, terpenes and aldehydes.  The building blocks changed but the overall concept of design and construction remained the same.

As a native Singaporean, Ivan credits his multicultural upbringing for giving him the needed cultural openness to the world to create fragrances for the APAC region.  While he works primarily on Home and Personal Care projects, he has had some notable Fine Fragrance wins.

In the creation process, Ivan’s aim is for his fragrance to deliver performance, but in a pleasant manner.  It is therefore key for him to understand which ingredients can achieve this.  Magnolia leaves oil is one example he is particularly fond of.

Technical Perfumer

Magdalena Rey

"Safeguarding the character of every fragrance ingredient "

Even before completing her Master’s degree in Cosmetics and Dermo Pharmacy, Mada knew that she wanted to become a Perfumer.  The opportunity to discover the fragrance industry from the inside presented itself at Eurofragance with a job as an Applications Trainee.  This was the steppingstone for her to enter the Perfumery Academy, which she graduated from in 2021.

In her current position as Technical Perfumer, Mada manages the company’s extensive palette of 1,200 ingredients.  She also draws on her creative skills to reformulate fragrances across all categories of scented products when a particular ingredient is no longer available.  In these instances, she works closely with the Regulatory department, often before issues arise.

Mada also collaborates with the R&D team on the development of new proprietary ingredients also known as captives.  Her most recent project was Olivante®, an adventure that spanned three years and involved several Perfumers from different Creative Centers.

Perfumer

David Mallo

"A never-ending story of learning"

David grew up in Vigo, Spain and studied pharmacy in Santiago de Compostela before obtaining his Master’s degree in Dermo Pharmacy in Barcelona.  Not feeling completely fulfilled by the field, he opted instead for the world of scents and smells.  David began working at Eurofragance as a Fragrance Analyst Trainee before entering the Perfumery Academy.

Now working in Dubai, David has retained the fascination for raw materials he discovered during his training to become a Perfumer.  Notably, he is fond of marine, watery notes that he looks to incorporate in, amongst others, the Middle Eastern blends he carefully crafts.

As a trained Perfumer, he knows that every product category can teach him something, but currently applies his methodical approach and most of his creative energy to designing Fine Fragrances.  And, when composing for more creative briefs, he draws much of his inspiration from personal memories and experiences.

Amandine Germaine Michèle Goubert

"Perfumery is an invisible art form both personal and shared "

When Amandine was a child, her father, a former chef, would have her guess blindfolded the ingredients in his dishes through smelling and tasting.  This allowed her to develop an artistic approach to taste and scent, and determined her career path.

Amandine completed a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry before receiving her Master’s degree in Chemistry and Perfumery from the École Supérieure du Parfum de Paris.  This opened the doors to a perfumery training program in a first fragrance house before she joined Eurofragance as a Junior Perfumer in Mexico.  Currently, she is perfecting her skills, creating cross-category fragrances that she hopes can offer intimate and universal experiences to consumers.

"Transforming passion into fragrances "

Some of Lorena’s earliest olfactive memories relate to her exploring the woods with her family or lingering in the flower garden. Such experiences naturally determined her future. Lorena enrolled in a five-year degree in Chemistry at the University of València. She entered Eurofragance as a Fragrance Analyst in 2012; to eventually join the Perfumery Academy and become a Junior Perfumer Analyst.

Lorena develops Fine Fragrance and Air Care formulas, carefully balancing performance, regulatory compliance, material costs and the creative requirements of each project.  She also adapts these formulas across different product categories, ensuring each creation maintains its identity and attractiveness.

Through exposure to hundreds of perfumery ingredients, she developed an insatiable curiosity for the different olfactive profiles of the raw materials she had to evaluate.  There was but one step before entering and completing the highly demanding Perfumery Academy.  Now, a Technical Perfumer, Saray designs and reformulates fragrances to address regulatory and market challenges.

Anna Servat

"Balancing rationality and instinct in perfumery "

Anna’s Bachelor studies in Chemistry took from Barcelona to Lyon, in France, where, through the Erasmus program, she completed her learning.  Still in Lyon, she pursued a Master’s program in Organic Chemistry.

In 2012, she joined Eurofragance’s analysis department where she spent a little over ten years immersing herself in the world of perfumery—a revelation for her.  Having proven her passion for fragrances, Anna was accepted into the Perfumery Academy.  Since 2022, Anna works as a Junior Perfumer most often on Air Care, Personal Care and occasional Fine Fragrance projects where she applies her methodical rigor, while developing her more instinctive approach.

Junior Technical Perfumer

Saray Acedo

"Discovering every day new relations and differences between raw materials "

Saray obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry and a postgraduate program in Cosmetic and Dermo Pharmaceutical Management from the University of Barcelona.  While she had originally intended to enter the healthcare field, Saray sought other opportunities to apply her chemistry skills.  It is almost by chance that she joined Eurofragance’s Quality Control department in 2019.

Junior Perfumer
