Eurofragance donates over €8,000 to charitable causes around the world
  • The company celebrates the third edition of its “Community Day” under the slogan “Together to Help our Communities”

  • The money raised is the result of employee donations, which the company has matched

  • In Spain, employees collaborated with the Red Cross on projects to help families affected by the volcano eruption in La Palma

Barcelona, December 27, 2021.  Under the slogan "Together to Help our Communities," Eurofragance has celebrated "Community Week," a week that is part of "Community Day," an initiative in its third edition.  Juan Ramón López Gil, Chief Financial Officer at Eurofragance who oversaw this year’s donation drive, had this to offer: “More than 4,000€ was raised by employees, and we decided the company would match this sum for a total of over 8,000€.”

This year, due to the continuing pandemic situation and the challenge of holding face-to-face events, as on previous occasions a project with a common theme was chosen, but adapted to the concerns of each of the Eurofragance subsidiary regions.  Each subsidiary chose a local association to collaborate with and a cause to support.  Donations have been made in the form of food or money depending on the nature of each organization.

In Spain, the Eurofragance head office chose to collaborate with the Red Cross and its project to help families affected by the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the island of La Palma.  The eruption began on September 19th and continues to destroy homes and livelihoods, greatly affecting the island’s inhabitants.

For this project, "Eurofragance with La Palma" was created, a collaboration space on the Red Cross website where every Eurofragancer was able to contribute to the cause by making a donation via a direct link.

Solidarity and community support on a global scale

As for the rest of the affiliates, each one committed to supporting projects local to them, responding to the different needs in their area.  In India, the team raised funds for Educo, an NGO that provides food to the most needy children in the country.  The money raised through this action has been used to provide food and basic daily necessities for 139 children at four night shelters.

The team in Turkey decided to support the Foundation for the Support of Women's Work (KEDV), whose aim is to improve the financial lives of women with limited resources, and to help them find work that will enable them to earn an income.  For its part, Eurofragance employees in Mexico selected the La Casa de la Sal association for its solidarity initiative, an organization that helps and supports children, teenagers and adults living with AIDS.

The Dubai subsidiary cooperated with the SmartLife Foundation, an NGO that provides food to people without resources.  As for the Singapore office, it teamed up with the Singapore Children's Society, a charitable organization that protects disadvantaged children.

López Gil, had this to add: “Whether it’s ‘Community Day’ or ‘Community Week,”’ these events are the occasion for our employees to demonstrate their generous spirit and attachment to their community—wherever they might work and live.  Such values are priceless.”
