Did you know that women represent the 56% of Eurofragance´s workforce?

We believe in equality. We work to establish a real equality. This is the reason why Eurofragance employs a total of 143 women out of its 254 employees. Women represent the 56% of Eurofragance´s workforce.

From the very beginning, since the company was created, we never had a doubt that this would be a company where men and women have the same rights and opportunities.

In order to achieve equality, we also apply measures that guarantee the same salary and the same work conditions for both women and men who are on the same role. We all at Eurofragance are different but we all are treated equally.

Some other measures we apply to all our employees are flexible timesheet, health assistance and health insurance. These procedures help employees to have quality of life and to adapt their work times to their personal life.

We are People, Passion and Creativity and only in a flexible and enjoyable working environment we can be passionate and creative.

Furthermore, we also work for equality outside our walls, collaborating with projects like Educo´s one. Educo is a global development NGO that acts in favour of children by defending their rights, especially the right to a quality education.

Eurofragance, specifically, helps Educo on the SHE grants program. These grants cover girls’ schooling costs for the first year of secondary school. Equality starts since we are born, by having the same opportunities, boys and girls.

Have you ever wondered how fragrances are created? Nothing in life is a coincidence nor in the perfume world. Today´s post is especially written for you, the one wondering if fragrances creation is just a matter of mixing raw materials or if it is something more creative and far more complicated.

As so many other processes in business, the process of creating fragrances starts with a briefing. Clients expose their goals and explain the characteristics they pursue for the product they want to introduce into the market. From this point, we initiate the project to get the perfect odour, the one that accomplishes clients ´goals and needs.

Perfumers start a creative procedure, as well as precise, to find the wanted formula. This procedure includes their input, their particular way to get inspired and their knowledge of the olfactory notes and the market trends. They try not only to achieve clients’ expectations but also capture sensations for consumers to feel them when they smell the new fragrance.

But there is no total freedom to create a fragrance: it has to meet the requirements not only of the client and the market but also countries´ regulations. Besides, perfumers need to take into account the characteristics of the final product. Depending on the product where the fragrance will be applied (perfume, body care lotion, air freshener…) there will be different technical requirements to accomplish.

So perfumers’ work is to get a creative and fascinating essence within functional limits. This is a real challenge.

Once they have got the formula, this is sent to the lab compounding where the lab team produces small samples with the designed scent.

Then, the samples are sent to the applications team where they are tested on the final product to evaluate the behaviour of the fragrance. Subsequently, accelerated studies of stability are carried out in order to see how the fragrance responds to drastic conditions and also to simulate its real use.

Finally, product goes through different tests which include: physical, chemical and organoleptic in order to establish the standard parameters of this new fragrance. The main purpose of these tests is to ensure that the quality control of the product responds to our high quality standards.

Voilà! The new fragrance is ready for the market.

As we have said, it is a process in which are involved clients´objectives, perfumers´ inspiration and creativity, and quality tests. What makes this process unique is our PEOPLE, PASSION and CREATIVITY.

The right amount of certain olfactory notes can make a difference between a captivating perfume and an indiscernible one

Why balance is so important? We all spend our lives looking for balance, at least a minimum equilibrium which allows us enjoy little things and avoid drama.

Lately, there is an artist working on balance and inspiring the most creative minds through his work. Kokei Mikuni, an expert on rock balancing, gets inspiration from nature where he tries to find the balance, where he creates its art.

The perfume art requires also an essential equilibrium, the right amount of certain olfactory notes, no more, no less. Perfume creation is not only mixing some different raw materials. To create a perfume, we need to analyse how much quantity we need of each ingredient to get an enchanting fragrance instead of an indiscernible one.

The same effect that Kokei Mikuni gets when people see him constructing his rock structures is the effect that perfumers look for when producing a fragrance: attention, attraction, fascination, magnetism.

However, you don´t get those characteristics in a perfume easily. Creating a fragrance requires not only a balance among the olfactory notes we are adding. There are more elements to be considered. Apart from following the regulatory rules,  perfumers need to find the balance between the following points: what the client expects from the perfume, what scents the targeted consumers are willing to wear, what kind of smell matches the goals pursued with the perfume creation and also what are the ideal olfactory notes to express what that creation pretends to be.

After considering the above aspects, it is time to find the balance! And yet the balance can be subjective, it depends on the nose who smells.

Doctors, cooks, cleaners, scientists, musicians, perfumers, we all are makers. What do you make? What do you do? Whatever you do, do it with passion because your work is important for someone.

In that sense, we have decided to share our expertise and our knowledge with you. The perfumes production has always been a mystery. How perfumers get scents that enchant people, how a fragrance can last for hours even days, etc.

“Odors have a power of persuasion stronger than that of words, appearances, emotions, or will. The persuasive power of an odor cannot be fended off, it enters into us like breath into our lungs, it fills us up, imbues us totally. There is no remedy for it.” ? Patrick Süskind, Perfume: The Story of a Murderer – . This quote represents well what perfumery means to us.

Eleven years ago Eurofragance launched a Perfumery Academy dedicated to share our experience and train the olfactory capability of our clients and distributors. At the same time, this academy has been internally working to identify talent and to specialize our perfumers.

Eurofragance launched 26 years ago as a family owned company but with a decisive vision of an international business. This mix of family origin and international projection made of Eurofragance a unique company which sees in its workforce and creativity the main pieces to succeed.

Companies must understand their markets, no matter what they produce and they have to analyse the cultures of the countries they produce for. This is what Eurofragance did from the very beginning and this is the reason why the company leads fragrances creation in markets as singular as Middle East.

In a world where change is continuous, innovation and creativity are necessary to be successful. Besides, globalization forces companies to understand the local realities in a global context, which means, from a company´s point of view, the need of understanding different cultures and markets and the need of adapting products and communication to different and diverse target.

The proximity to the customer is part of Eurofragance´s essence. It is present from the very beginning, when a very young Santiago Sabatés, our CEO, met with his Eastern clients and was received as a brother and a friend and in return he provided them with the best service he was able to give.

Many of our clients have accompanied us on this path to success and they are also protagonists of a story that is written for them.

Actually, in 2015 we grew more than 13% and achieved a turnover of €63.1 million. Our growth is due to increased sales and good performance in all our markets, particularly America, Asia and the Persian Gulf. The workforce has also grown by 10% to 222 employees.
